Some Things I've Gained from the FTTA, J.O.

In considering my Christian life, the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) has been a most precious furthering of my walk with the Lord. These two years have been full of valuable experiences that may have taken me several years to accumulate, had the time not been set aside, free from distractions, and sanctified for the Lord's working in me.

I am seeing many truths and bases of my Christian beliefs in the Word for the first time, rather than just believing what someone else says is in the Bible. Although we study the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee and appreciate all the light they saw, we are strongly encouraged to see all things in the Word ourselves, and to prayerfully consider all we read so that each of us gains a personal understanding. My familiarity with, appetite for and love for the Bible has been heightened because in it I find the Person of Christ, Who loves to reveal Himself to us through His Word.

Personally, my love for the Lord has increased. Through so much time in prayer and fellowship with other believers, the Lord has become more real than I ever hoped He'd be. I'm learning to listen and respond to this Person in me. He is living!

I've also seen that our Christ is One who loves people, and if we are to be like Him, we also must love and have an interest in people (1 John 4:16, 19). I've experienced Jesus' love to me through others and have enjoyed the sweet, intimate atmosphere among the believers in the meetings. Because of this, I am learning to care for others in practical ways as well as through prayer and fellowship.

These two years have been invaluable, golden, and irreplaceable. No words can describe all that has transpired and all the ways that Christ has been making His home in my heart (Ephesians 3:17). It has set a healthy pattern of having conversations with Him, learning to be open to Him, being happy in Him, and loving Him more and more. May He continue to grow in me.
